And the software running on the device has a lot of quick commands mapped to the F1-F12 keys and the NumLock key is located right next to the F12 key so it frequently gets pressed on accident. The Caps Lock being on is not an issue, because most people know that if they are typing and it is in all caps, to just press Caps Lock, but for some reason, hardly anyone knows what NumLock is, or what it will do when turned off. This leads to a lot of trouble tickets being made for 'the keyboard is not working right' when the issues cause, and fix for it, is just have someone push the NumLock key once.
